The Dynamic attribute feature allows the user to define new attributes based on various input factors and use these attributes in the pricing cycle and the price recommendation acceptance process.
Dynamic attributes are calculated at both the start and end of the product pricing cycle and serve two primary purposes:
- To compute attributes based on product recommendations, ensuring that the pricing is aligned with the suggested guidelines.
- To determine the product group by calculating specific attributes at the beginning of the pricing cycle, which helps classify the product appropriately.
How to set it up?
Dynamic attributes will be shown in the product page in the attributes section, under the tab called 'Dynamic attributes'
To create the calculation you will need to set up a pricing function from type Dynamic attributes.
In the pricing function, you will define the logic to calculate the value of the attribute.
You can use the function to calculate more than one function.
After creating the function, make sure to set it in the Global Custom Functions under the 'Dynamic Attributes'.
And that's it! your product's dynamic attributes calculations are all set and ready to use.
Notes
1. You can have only one dynamic attribute function at a time
2. Error Handling: in case the dynamic attribute function fails the pricing errors will appear
3. To turn on the feature, let your CSM know, and what attributes should be calculated dynamically.
4. The Dynamic attributes are calculated twice, once at the very start of the pricing process, and lastly after the entire pricing process ends.
