Pricing parameters also referred to as the "Parameter Sheet," are a game-changing addition to Quicklizard's pricing toolkit. This feature empowers pricing administrators with the ability to tailor their pricing strategies in ways that go beyond the traditional limitations of pricing groups.
Benefits & Value
Pricing parameters offer you complete control over price optimization through a user-friendly interface. This transparency allows you to easily manage and adjust pricing parameters, adapting to market dynamics and meeting customer demands.
Prerequisites
- Users must have either the Account Manager or Global Settings Manager role.
- You'll need access to this feature from your Customer Success Manager.
How does it work?
Creation
To leverage the potential of pricing parameters, users with Account Manager and Global Settings Manager roles can create and edit them.
Here is a concise overview of the process; alternatively, you can refer to our step-by-step video in the "How To - Create a New Parameter Sheet" guide.
- Access the pricing settings and navigate to the Pricing Parameters.
- Click the "Add Pricing Parameter" button to create a new parameter sheet.
- Provide a unique name and select the type of the parameter, which currently supports 'Matrix' for retrieving all attributes for primary keys.
- Go to the Parameters Values tab and use the "Add from CSV" button to import data into the Parameter sheet.
To configure each column, click on the respective column name and select the settings button.
In the settings, you can define key columns and specify data types, such as strings, integers, or floats, for non-key values for a detailed explanation about the different types please see our article Pricing Parameters sheet column types.
Range Key
The range key allows the pricing editor to filter and retrieve parameter sheet items based on their range value in the Custom Function & Pricing Function.
Date Range Key
This feature allows you to efficiently filter and retrieve data based on specified date ranges by using an intuitive date picker, enabling you to select start and end dates directly within the sheet. The dates are displayed in a format that aligns with your local time.
After all is set up, Remember to save your changes.
To enable the parameter sheet in custom functions, toggle the 'Enable pricing parameters' switch and save your changes.
Modifying an existing parameter sheet is as simple as clicking on its name and following the same process.
Finally, to use the parameter sheet, you will need to access it through the custom function; please refer your technical partner here.
Limitations
- Each client key can have up to 20 parameter sheets, and each sheet's name must be unique.
- A parameter sheet can contain a maximum of 2500 rows and 30 columns.
